Damian Kerr
Damian Kerr is a writer and multidisciplinary artist based in Naarm, Melbourne, Australia. His contemporary seascapes and figurative works explore a relationship to water with a focus on environmental concerns. His sculptural work blends petrochemicals with coral, formed through chemical processes and direct heat.

Damian spent decades building and selling financial services companies. He worked with Fortune 500 organisations while simultaneously meeting the requirements of an LLB honours law program. Along the way, he has run leadership retreats for CEO's, taught public speaking, trained salespeople and qualified as a marine mammal medic for whale strandings.

His artwork is in high demand and is included in private global collections across Australia, New Zealand, Italy, the United States, China and the UK.
Damian's paintings appear as works of realism at first glance; but are built up of dynamic brushstrokes, laying colours and oil paint wet on wet. Each luscious seascape is an endangered harbour or at-risk waterway caught in a fleeting moment of beauty. They are meant to serve as a reminder of how much we stand to lose.

In the 'More than Monsters' series, we dip under the waves and find little plastic monsters drifting in our seas.
The 'Waterworld' series imposes the same watery filter over the dry world. The 'Twelve Years' series explores our relationship with water in the countdown to climate change.

Damian was born in Aotearoa, New Zealand. He's been married for 29 years to Tessa, a Psychiatrist. They have three children .
